November Eight-Day Retreat (2020)
Please Note:
The November Eight-Day Retreat has been cancelled.
The next retreat will be the April Eight-Day Retreat at Powell House.

April Eight-Day Retreat (2021)
April 8 - 16
Powell House
Old Chatham, NY

This silent retreat is held in the traditional insight meditation form, allowing participants to experience stillness and insight in a supportive environment. The retreat includes sitting and walking meditation, dharma talks and interviews. The eight-day retreat offers a precious opportunity for a deepening of inner silence and clear seeing.

An integral aspect of the retreat is the personal interaction that the teacher has with the students.  We keep the retreats small to ensure that the teacher has a close working relationship with each student throughout the eight days.  For this reason, we will be accepting a limited number of registrations for the retreat.

This is a retreat for experienced dharma students.  All students must have the approval of the teacher.  If you are interested in attending the retreat, please review the application process.  Information about applying for the retreat can be found here.

The retreat begins in the evening on Thursday, April 8, and ends in the afternoon on Friday, April 16.  All students are expected to attend the entire retreat

All retreatants will have a single room. The retreat fee includes three vegetarian meals per day.

The cost* for the retreat is:

$900  (high)
$800  (average)
$700  (low)

You must apply and pre-register for the retreat.  In order to register we ask that you submit  a $150 deposit.

*Please note that the course fee does not include payment to the teacher. The teacher is supported by donation (dana).  Students will be able make a donation to the teacher at the retreat.

Participants will be asked to support the retreat by having "yogi jobs."  These jobs, which include working in the kitchen, contribute to the community spirit and help us keep the cost of the retreat low.

Powell House is an approximately 2.5 hour drive from NYC.  There is an Amtrak train that goes to Hudson NY. The Hudson station is an approximately 30 drive from Powell House.  Prior to the retreat we will organize car pools, etc., for retreatants.

If you are interested in applying for the April Eight-Day Retreat, we ask that you follow the application process.  All the information about the process for applying and registering can be found here:
