April Eight-Day Retreat (2023) April 13 - 21 Powell House Old Chatham, NY
All participants in the retreat must be fully vaccinated for Covid-19. Before the retreat we will put out additional specifics about health protocols that we will follow at Powell House.
This silent retreat is held in the traditional insight meditation form, allowing participants to experience stillness and insight in a supportive environment. The retreat includes sitting and walking meditation, dharma talks and interviews. The eight-day retreat offers a precious opportunity for a deepening of inner silence and clear seeing.
An integral aspect of the retreat is the personal interaction that the teacher has with the students. We keep the retreats small to ensure that the teacher has a close working relationship with each student throughout the eight days. For this reason, we will be accepting a limited number of registrations for the retreat.
Please Note: Due the the pandemic, the retreat will be limited to a smaller number of participants than normal.
This is a retreat for experienced dharma students. All students must have the approval of the teacher. If you are interested in attending the retreat, please review the application process. Information about applying for the retreat can be found here.
The retreat begins in the evening on Thursday, April 13, and ends in the afternoon on Friday, April 21. All students are expected to attend the entire retreat
Each retreatant will have a single room. The retreat fee includes three vegetarian meals per day. The cost* for the retreat is:
$950 (high) $850 (average) $750 (low)
You must apply and pre-register for the retreat. In order to register we ask that you submit a $150 deposit.
*Please note that the course fee does not include payment to the teacher. The teacher is supported by donation (dana). Students will be able make a donation to the teacher at the retreat.
Participants will be asked to support the retreat by having "yogi jobs." These jobs, which include working in the kitchen, contribute to the community spirit and help us keep the cost of the retreat low.
All students must be vaccinated for Covid-19. Prior to the retreat, we will put out specific information about health and safety protocols that we will follow at Powell House. All participants will be expected to adhere to the guidelines. Thanks for your compassion, cooperation and understanding. Powell House is an approximately 2.5 hour drive from NYC.
